Dr. Amarnath Banerjee is a Professor in the Wm Michael Barnes ’64 Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University. He currently serves as the Associate Department Head of Undergraduate Affairs and is the interim director of the TEES Institute for Manufacturing Systems. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a BS in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India. His research interests are in modeling, simulation and visualization techniques, and their applications in manufacturing, information, and health care systems. He teaches courses in manufacturing and production systems design and control, facilities planning, health care systems, and simulation. Dr. Banerjee is working with his colleagues to develop an Industry 4.0 research, education and training facility in the department that will provide the environment for hands-on activities on various aspects of Industry 4.0. He is also leading the effort in creating a Digital Twin environment for remote training on advanced manufacturing concepts. Dr. Banerjee has served in several administrative roles, such as the Director of Undergraduate Program, ABET coordinator, and the Associate Head for Graduate Affairs. Prof. Banerjee has been well recognized for his scholarly achievement, research and service to the institution and the profession. He was recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers in 2022. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
Dr. Satish T.S. Bukkapatnam is a Regents Professor and Rockwell International Professor of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University. He had also served as the director of TEES-IMS, and is currently on deputation (IPA) as a program director at the National Science Foundation (NSF). He received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from Pennsylvania State University (1997). His research interests are broadly in smart manufacturing systems, and ultraprecision manufacturing. His work (as a principal investigator or co-investigator) was supported by grants from federal agencies including the US National Science Foundation, Department of Energy and Department of Defense, as well as diverse Industry sectors totaling over $10M. Dr. Bukkapatnam is a Fellow of IISE and SME, Associate member of CIRP, and was a Fulbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Chair.
Hamid R. Parsaei, Ph.D., P.E. is a Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the Director of the Accreditation and Assessment for the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University. He served as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the Texas A&M University Qatar campus. Before joining Texas A&M University, he served as a Professor and Chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Houston for ten years. Dr. Parsaei is a registered professional engineer in Texas and a Life Fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (USE), American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), and Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society International (IEOM). Dr. Parsaei teaching and consulting activities have primary been concentrated on project management, productivity improvement cost reduction, automation and advanced manufacturing. He has served as principal or co-principal investigator for projects, funded by the federal government and private sector, in excess of $27M.
Dr. Bimal Nepal joined the Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution (ETID) at Texas A&M University in 2009, where he currently Interim Department Head and holds the Don A. Rice Professorship. Previously he has served as Associate Department Head for Undergraduate Studies in ETID and Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies in Industrial Distribution Program. Bimal’s current research interests include application of data science in distribution and supply chain management, manufacturing, and engineering education. As PI or Co-PI, he has secured over $6 million in external funds to support his research activities. He is an Associate Editor of Engineering Management Journal. Bimal has received several teaching, research, and service awards both within and outside Texas A&M University, including ETID faculty excellence awards (multiple times), College of Engineering Faculty Fellow (multiple times), William Daughton World Headquarters Service Award, American Society for Engineering Management, and IEOM Engineering Education Award, North American Industrial Engineering & Operations Management Society. A fellow of American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM), Bimal is a member of ASEM, SME, ASEE, and a senior member of IISE.
